Arkansas Baptist Opens New Building

Little Rock, Ark. – A dedication ceremony was held today to mark the completion of the first phase of the
$6.5 million expansion of the Arkansas Baptist High School campus, 8400 Ranch Blvd. The first phase of the expansion
project includes three classrooms, a teacher workroom, a 2,400-square-foot state-of-the-art technology center, a 2,000-squarefoot band room that includes practice, dressing and storage rooms. RPPY Architects, of Little Rock, served as the project’s architect, and HARCO Constructors, of North Little Rock, served as the project’s contractor.

Superintendent Arthur Bennett said, “Because we have outgrown our existing space, we are extremely excited to utilize this incredible facility, which includes new technology that will allow teachers and students the opportunity to learn and obtain cutting-edge skills. Overall, the facility will help improve the quality of education for each student who walks through our doors.”

The second phase of the expansion project will consist of two classrooms, a new choral arts room, a visual arts studio and facilities for athletics. The second phase will also include a multipurpose student life center with a full-service cafeteria, a stage for choral and drama performances and a new practice facility for basketball and volleyball.

Arkansas Baptist School System (ABSS) is a 28-year old private Christian college preparatory school housed on two west Little Rock campuses, 62 Pleasant Valley Drive and 8400 Ranch Blvd., offering K3 through 12 th grade. The system is one of the largest private school systems in central Arkansas with close to 800 students. In addition to producing National Merit Finalists, ABSS is home to award-winning sports teams and fine arts programs.
