Parent Connection


The Arkansas Baptist Elementary School’s Parent Connection provides the opportunity for parents to get “plugged in” to the system. Parent Connection offers support to teachers and the school via volunteering and fundraising. If you are interested in becoming involved, please contact any Parent Connection board member or someone in the elementary office.

Fundraising

Parent Connection sponsors one major sales drive each year. The bulk of the Parent Connection funds come from this drive. Through magazine, gift catalog and coffee scales, the Elementary Parent Connection raised over $22,000 in the 2009-10 school year. The money was used to upgrade technology, purchase classroom and physical education supplies and much more.

Parent Volunteers

There are many opportunities for volunteers who do not serve on the Parent Connection Board. It takes 50-100 volunteers to work on fundraising projects and events.

Elementary Parent Connection Events

  • Back to School “Splash Bash” – This event is held on the high school during the first week of school. It is an event for the entire family. Parent Connection  provides giant water slides, rock climbing wall, petting zoo, carpet golf and several other fun activities.
  • Family Fun Nights – These events are an evening (5 pm – 7 pm) specific to each grade level (K3-6). The entire family is invited to the Family Wellness & Recreation Center of Little Rock’s First Baptist Church for fellowship and fun. The gym will be open with age appropriate games. In addition, families may enjoy the indoor play area, Wii’s and game tables. A light meal will be served. Come spend an hour or two getting to know the other families in your child’s class.
